ORVAL ABBEY

Orval Abbey is one of Belgium's most remarkable Cistercian abbeys. Founded in 1132, Orval Abbey is still inhabited by a community of monks who produce Orval's famous beer and cheese. The secrets of the abbey's brewing art are on display at the museum. You can also visit the monastery museum (history, steel production, sacred art), watch an audiovisual presentation on the history of the monastery and the lives of the monks, and take a walk through the medicinal plant garden, followed by the traditional apothecary museum.
